Father and son's watery adventure
5:09pm Thursday 2nd September 2010
A father and son had an unforgettable canoeing adventure to raise cash for a youth cafe.
Chris and Joshua Smith braved heavy rain, a broken rudder and fallen trees in their attempt to navigate 100 miles of Welsh waterways.
The challenges put paid to their adventure at around 100km.
But they still hope to have raised a decent sum for The Hut, which needs to raise £250,000 for a permanent building in Braintree. Anyone who wishes to donate money can make cheques payable to King's Community Church Braintree and send them to the church’s base at London House, Great Square, Braintree, CM7 7UE.
