Witham: Police chase after reports of car travelling wrong way down A12

A man was arrested following a police chase after reports of a car driving the wrong way on the A12.
Just after 2pm on Friday evening drivers called police reporting a Honda on the Ipswich bound carriageway heading in the direction of London.
Dog handlers and the police helicopter joined the search and the car was seen heading towards Witham and was then found abandoned in Stainer Close.
Two people were arrested in Pelly Avenue and a bag of drugs was found in one of the nearby streets.
Thanh Bui, age 38 from Ogilby Street, London was charged with possession of controlled class B drugs, failing to stop for police and driving whilst disqualified.
He will appear before Magistrates in Colchester on Monday, February 6.
Police have also bailed a 14-year-old teenage boy until March 18 for possession of drugs.
