Braintree: Familiar views at art exhibition

See some familiar sights at a brand new exhibition of paintings currently on display at the Dome Gallery, in Braintree Library.
The first solo exhibition by Jan Cole features paintings inspired by the area surrounding the River Colne.
Jan, who lives in Sible Hedingham, said: “Most of the paintings of the river were done at Hedingham Riverside Walk, but there are also a few of the river at Halstead and at Colchester.
“Overall, I hope this will be a profile-raising exercise for the Colne Valley and our part of it.”
The exhibition will be at the Dome Gallery until February 27.
The library is open between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Saturday.
