Braintree: Student fights off armed robber

A student has spoken of the terrifying moment she fought off a robber wielding a broken bottle.
Petite Ashley MacNicol, 19, who practices the martial art Wing Chun, punched the would-be robber in the face after he demanded her belongings in a Braintree alleyway.
College at Braintree student Miss MacNicol, who is 5ft 4, was threatened in a cut through between Bradford Street and St James’s Road, Braintree.
