Braintree boxer Greaves impresses in dominant display
9:50am Friday 12th March 2010
Braintree Boxing Club prospect Rob Greaves again impressed with another dominant display of pugilism at the annual New Astley ABC Open Show in Suffolk.
Boxing against New Astley’s more experienced Michael Cooper, Greaves started the first round in confident fashion.
He staved off the aggressive Cooper’s attempted punches and countered with solid jabs, before hurting Cooper on several occasions with powerful straight right hands.
Greaves was in full control in all three rounds and nearly dropped Cooper with a wicked left hook to the body at the end of the second.
The New Astley Boxer held his stomach as the round ended and struggled to his corner.
The final round was dominated by Greaves, as he landed at will with sharp straight shots and powerful left hooks to both the body and head of his opponent.
After three rounds of clinical boxing, Greaves was awarded the clear points winner for his latest win.
