Rod - one step at a time for in-form Iron
12:47pm Wednesday 1st September 2010
Rod Stringer has insisted he is not getting carried away with Braintree Town’s excellent start to the season.
Iron lie second in the Blue Square Bet South table, following an unbeaten opening to the new campaign.
Braintree followed up their fine win over rivals Chelmsford City with a creditable point at Ebbsfleet United, on Monday.
They head to Basingstoke on Saturday in confident mood but boss Stringer is not thinking too far ahead.
He told the Times: “If we can win our home games and pick up points regularly away from home, then we will be there or there abouts.
“We were pleased to take four points over the Bank Holiday weekend. But there’s still a long way to go and we will have to be lucky with injuries."
